Actress Ankita Lokhade has been on the receiving end of criticism ever since she participated in the 17th season of Bigg Boss. Touted as one of the most controversial reality shows in India, the recent season failed to impress the audience as it mostly centred around the actress, her ‘toxic’ relationship with hubby Vicky Jain, their constant fights and her reminiscing about her previous relationship with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. While, in the initial stages the fans adored her for opening up about SSR, some went on to criticise her for wanting to gain sympathy by sharing their memories on national television.

Now, in an exclusive interview with PeepingMoon, the 39-year-old actress has opened up about the same. When asked if she reminisced about her past relationship with her Pavitra Rishta co-star because she missed him, his presence and the support he would often offer, she dismissed the notion. Ankita expressed that she would share his story because the young actors, the contestants of the show, who idolised him, wanted to know more about him. Shedding light on the fact that she has received plenty of support from Vicky and wasn’t seeking support from Sushant, she explained that she never initiated conversations about him. Quoted by the entertainment portal, she added, “I've shared a very beautiful time with him. So I was just sharing those things with whosoever used to talk about Sushant. It was never me who took out the topic or I wanted to talk. No. But if I have something to share, because he has inspired me as a person because they were youngsters, there were a lot of people who wanted to know about Sushant, and I was that one source there. Talking about her and Vicky’s journey in Bigg Boss 17, while the latter was evicted from the show before he reached the top 5 finalists, she became the third runner-up. 

For the unversed, Ankita Lokhande tied the knot with her husband Vicky Jain in a grand ceremony in 2021. The couple has been living their best life as they are often seen taking to social media to flaunt their lifestyle, leaving admirers in awe. They were last seen together participating in Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss 17. Throughout the show, they made the headlines for their quarrels and the actress reminiscing about her past relationship with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
